Is Dr. Wellborn a provider on your insurance?
Dr. Wellborn is no longer a provider for insurance plans. This means that he only accepts out of pocket payments for services. Payment is expected at the time services are provided.
Some plans have Out Of Network Benefits. This is a benefit that provides the option of meeting with a psychotherapist who is not a provider on your plan. When you have these benefits, your insurance plan will provide some reimbursement for services but it will still be more costly than if you meet with a provider who is in your network.
Before you meet with Dr. Wellborn:
It is important that you call your insurance provider before you meet with Dr. Wellborn to verify whether there are out of network benefits for your meetings. A convenient checklist (Insurance Coverage Checklist) has been provided in the New Client folder to help you know what questions to ask. You will be responsible for interacting with your insurance provider to receive any reimbursement they might provide for your visits with Dr. Wellborn.
What if I can’t afford Dr. Wellborn’s exorbitant fees?

This can happen even when insurance covers some of the costs but especially if you don’t have mental health benefits.
